Save Live Music In San Francisco – We need your help!

October 6, 2011

I could really use your help. I am in the process of purchasing the old “Mojito”, soon to be called “Tupelo” at 1337-1339 Grant Ave in the heart of North Beach. It has had live entertainment for over 50 years including the likes of Janis Joplin, Steven Stills, and yes, Shantytown. Steve Martin did his first stand up comedy routine there. You get the idea – it has a long and storied history.
Well, it appears that some people in some powerful neighborhood groups are trying to block us from getting our entertainment license – But we are going to FIGHT. We cannot have another great music and artist venue in San Francisco close. We will go in front of the opposition and the Entertainment Commission at 6:30 PM Tues, Oct 11th. If you can come to support our cause, fantastic. If not, please write a letter addressed to the entertainment commision in support of small business, live music, or me as a lover of the arts, musician, and responsible individual. you can send that letter to my email –
If you still want to show support, but can’t make the hearing or write a brief letter, you can click on our online petition below. This means a lot to me and all the musicians that may lose yet another venue. Thank you for your time, Teague
