Breaking News Stories

February 10, 2010

Iran doesn’t have the national TV up. Hesitant to broadcast any images in Tehran Square since so many demonstrators have shown up! Reports of military switching sides to join the people! Can that be true! The situation is getting tense as people are gaining in strength and numbers…the crowds are increasing! The Twitter movement was right on time…every one is sending information and “RT” re-tweeting to their followers to spread the news of what’s happening. Other random Tweets are disappearing and my page is running almost completely on Iran updates. I’m receiving about 25 new Tweets a minute on Iranian information.

Unconfirmed reports that heavy IRGC & artillery presence inside the state TV compound. The Iranian regime is trying desperately to hold on to the images coming from Iranian state TV channels “live” footage of Azadi St. and SQ is MUTE, no audio at all.

I don’t understand Persian so I’m at the mercy of translation from the radio:

Caller from Epersian radio: Many government-installed speakers have been disabled by the brave youth.

Iran denies CNN and other international journalist from being allowed into the country to cover the demonstrations. The Google Gmail has been disabled. Anyone who is arrested are guaranteed to stay in prison until at least April 9, if they are released at all (and not hung in the streets).

Azadi Square will have intense fighting between the demonstrators and the government …. when President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be giving his speech of “Death to America…Death to Israel”. The unwanted guests are the opposition movement and they are now skilled at interrupting the government’s rally events that oppress the people.

8 months of fighting has erupted since the elections last June. Supreme Leader supports the rigged election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. They control the Basiji militia, security forces beating back the opposition protestors, and the Revolutionary Guard is in control beating back the protestors. The clerics are now splitting between hard liners and supporters of the Sea of Green demonstrators. 3 reformist politicians are leaders of the opposition. They are not necessarily “in charge” of the demonstrators, there is no hierarchical structure, and the Green Movement has been organizing itself. Most of the clergy remain on the fence until they figure out how and who will win in this power struggle.

I know eventually #SOG will win, they just need more help. Every one on Twitter and social networks are very excited and working with great enthusiasm through the night to help! We each rely on each other for advice and Q&A when needed.
